Features and Options
- Privacy Levels
- Control who can scan your CloudSticker, and who can edit it. In a nutshell:
- User classes are: Public, Signed-In Users, and Owner.
- There are 5 Privacy Levels that control which user classes can scan and read content, and which classes can edit content.
- Only the Owner can edit the Sticker options, change the Sticker type, delete the Sticker, view or set tags, or find the Sticker using the search functions.
The default Privacy Level allows anyone to scan and read, but allows only the Owner to edit content. For more info on setting Privacy Levels, consult the User's Guide on our wiki
- Sticker Types
- StickerNote - the default CloudSticker type. StickerNotes allow you to maintain your own content to be displayed when the sticker is scanned. The content can be entered as plain text, or it can include simple "markdown" formatting to make it look fancier. Any URLs in the text (beginning with http: or https:) are automatically made clickable.
- Redirect - the user will be automatically redirected to the specified remote URL when the sticker is scanned. The CloudSticker title will be displayed for a few seconds before the redirect. The StickerNote content will not be displayed.
- Attached Images
You can add an image to a StickerNote by attaching an existing file, or by taking a picture using your mobile device's camera directly from the StickerNote detail page.
- Scan Log Options
- If scan logging is enabled, an entry is made in the sticker's
history every time it's scanned. The log entry automatically includes the
date and time, the username of the person that scanned it (when known),
and the location (when available).
There are some additional options that can be enabled for Scan Logging:
- Scan Log Notes: if enabled, the user will be prompted to enter a one-line note about why they're scanning your CloudSticker
- Scan Log Notifications: if enabled, an email will be sent to the sticker's owner specify containing the scan log entry details and the CloudSticker title.
- Scan Location Mapping
When viewing the Activity Log for a CloudSticker, a "map pin" icon is shown next to scan log entries that have location data. Clicking on the icon displays an interactive map display that shows the location of the sticker at the time it was scanned.
Tags are a flexible way to organize your stickers. You can add multiple tags to a sticker. For example, if you're labeling a storage box with winter clothes, you might want to give it both the "storage" and "clothing" tags. You can find all CloudStickers that match a tag by clicking on the tag in your "tag cloud" in the upper left corner of your home page, or by specifying one or more tags on the My Stickers page.
- Search
Find CloudStickers in your account by typing a search term (word, phrase, portion of a word, or CloudSticker key) in the "quick search" box on the navigation bar from any page. Or, you can find CloudStickers that match both a search term and one or more tags using the search features on the My Stickers page.
- Default Settings
You can specify the default privacy level and scan log settings to be used for any new stickers you activate in the future. These default settings are found in the My Account section.
- Default Template
In addition, you may add content to the Default StickerNote Template. This content will be included in the StickerNote content of all newly activated CloudStickers. The Default Template may include Markdown formatting.
